The company has grown rapidly by developing and commercialising market leading in vitro 3-D models of human tissues that provide data on the efficacy and safety drugs in early discovery.

Newcells is based in Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK and serves customers in all the major biotechnology regions including the USA, UK, Europe, and Japan. Key to our current and future growth plans is the development of innovative products and services that add value to the early drug discovery processes.

The North American life science industry is the largest and most important global market for life science service and product companies like Newcells. Over the last 5 years we have grown our brand, reputation and revenues in the USA and we count a number of major pharma and biotech companies as repeat customers. We continue to invest in innovation, launching 5 new services and products in the last 12 months, as we build on our leadership position in providing Complex In-vitro Models (CIVM’s) to improve early drug discovery efficiency.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our growing USA – based commercial team driving revenue growth in our largest market. The position would suit someone with account-management/sales experience and a strong drug discovery or life science background used to working in the fast-paced environment of venture backed company. We will also consider individuals looking to make a career move from a technical role into commercial.

Job Role Summary
To drive the revenue growth of Newcells’ innovative services and products at pharma and biotech companies based in the USA West Coast life science cluster. Working as part of the USA commercial team build on the existing pipeline of leads and customers by generating new leads, progressing opportunities through the sale cycle working closely with the technical and operation functions to deliver exceptional customer experience.

Location of Role
The role will be covering California and nearby states and the successful candidate will ideally be based in San Diego or San Francisco, California.

Key Responsibilities
• Generating leads for new commercial business to build the value and quality of the CRM pipeline in the West Coast USA
• Qualify MQL’s and identifying customer needs that match with Newcells’ offerings.
• Present the value proposition of Newcells’ services and products to new customers utilising technical support resources as appropriate to drive customers through the sales cycle.
• Manage value-based proposition development, presentation and negotiations to achieve customer commitment.
• Manage all aspects of customer account management to ensure exceptional experience and to build out relationships, maintain brand and increase repeat business.
• Identify key accounts with high-growth potential and implement strategies to maximise revenue and long-term growth at account.
• Work with marketing function to implement campaigns in region to grow Newcells’ recognition and network including attending conferences, network events and highlighting regional marketing opportunities.
• Actively maintain knowledge and understanding of early drug discovery segment and industry proposing opportunities for Newcells to expand the offer to its segment and increase value.
• Maintain the CRM system up to date to ensure company has real-time access to status of customers opportunities and projects, pipeline metrics and performance.
• Work with USA commercial team to manage trans-national accounts, share information and coordinate USA customer strategy.

Other Attributes
The ideal candidate would have a sales experience and a life science background relevant to Newcells product and service portfolio. The candidate should be well-organized, self-motivated, comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment, and have excellent communication skills. The position is available immediately. Candidates would be based in California or a west coast state. Relocation packages are not being offered.
